More details about Trump’s mass deportation program have been revealed

After a shocking video of suspected Tren de Aragua gang members in Aurora, Colorado, went viral over the summer, some city officials later called it “an isolated incident.”

However, 16 suspected TDA members were arrested at the same apartment complex on Tuesday.

In a news conference Wednesday, Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain said, “The victims were held against their will. They were actually tied up. They were pistol-whipped. They were beaten. They became victims. They were terrorized.”

The new Trump administration blamed migrant crime on changes in immigration policy under President Biden, calling it a key reason for Trump’s mass deportation program.

In an interview with CNN, Tom Homan, Trump’s choice for “border czar,” said, “Day one, day one, uh, ICE officers will be on the streets all over the country.”

He said he was asking the Departments of Defense and Congress for help.

“The minimum we need is 100,000 beds because we have a large population to look for,” he said.

Twenty-six Republican governors voiced their support in a statement released by the Republican Governors Association, saying: “We stand ready to use every tool at our disposal – whether through state law enforcement or the National Guard – to support President Trump in this vitally important issue Mission to support.”

The ACLU warned that support could mean giving local law enforcement the green light to profile people of color or those who don’t speak English, as some Democratic governors vow to fight back.

In a press conference on Dec. 12, Gov. JB Pritzker, D-Illinois, said: “We have laws in place in the state of Illinois. By the way, I’m proud of these laws that protect people who live here without papers.” Protect those who are migrants and also those who are registered immigrants, but we have laws that protect undocumented immigrants and I will Make sure I follow the law. Lackeys will not follow the law.”

Other Democrats say they plan to work with Homan, at least when it comes to deporting criminals.

In an interview with Fox News this week, Mayor Eric Adams, D-New York City, said: “We both agree that violent individuals should not remain in our country.” We have laws here in the city on how to deal with that . My legal team will sit down with his legal team to decide with an executive order to change this.”
