Mumbai 72/7 in 20.2 overs

Mumbai vs Jammu Kashmir, Ranji Trophy Live Score: The much-awaited return of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and his Test opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal to domestic cricket ended in disappointment as both of them missed out in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday were sent off cheaply. The pair, who were playing together for the first time against defending champions Mumbai, failed to make a memorable return to the domestic scene as Rohit conceded just 3 points and Jaiswal just 4 points.

Jaiswal was dismissed LBW by J&K right-arm pacer Auqib Nabi, who made excellent use of the fresh pitch and moved the new ball dangerously around the BKC ground.

However, Rohit’s dismissal was more disappointing. As he tried to push the ball outside, he got a lead which was comfortably intercepted by J&K captain Paras Dogra midway through the game.

In an interesting twist, Dogra wore the No. 9 jersey normally worn by Yudhvir Singh, which caused some confusion among those present.

Umar Nazir continued to make an impact by knocking out Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane for the 12th time, further stalling Mumbai’s progress.

While the turnout at the stadium was modest, spectators from nearby office buildings returned to work soon after Rohit’s dismissal as his short stay at the stadium came to an end.

Jaiswal came out of the dressing room first after Rahane won the toss and elected to bat, followed soon after by Rohit.
