Murder-suicide couple identified at luxury condo in Hallandale Beach

FORT LAUDERDALE — The police identified this A man and woman were found shot to death in a luxury apartment in Hallandale Beach Earlier this week, foreign media reported that it was a Kosovo-Albanian couple.

On Friday, Hallandale Beach police announced that the man and woman found dead early Wednesday morning were 34-year-old Pajtim Kasniqi and 27-year-old Sabrina Kasniqi. According to Gazeta Tema, an Albanian newspaper, they were Kosovo-Albanian nationals.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., Hallandale Beach Police were called to a ShotSpotter alert reporting multiple shots fired near 1800 S. Ocean Dr man and woman; both had been shot. The building was one of three in the complex.

Someone called 911 about the shooting and said they heard several gunshots and two people were downstairs on the balcony.

The shooting occurred in an upper floor unit. Chopper4 was over the crime scene and saw investigators coming and going.

Through their investigation, Hallandale Beach police officers learned that Sabrina fatally shot her husband, Pajtim, multiple times before taking her own life. The apartment where they were found was their shared residence, police said.

Hallandale Beach police did not provide any further information about what led to the apparent murder-suicide.

Albana Krasniqi Munrett, Pajtim’s older sister, said she and her family spent Thanksgiving week heartbroken over the tragedy.

“The person he trusted most, the person he wanted to spend his life with, was the one who was away from him,” she wrote in a Facebook post, sharing his photo. “(Sabrina) betrayed him, his love and his trust. She destroyed my family. My siblings and I will never be the same again. I’m afraid my mother will never recover.”

“The HBPD extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this heartbreaking incident,” the agency said.
