Gledhill was also accused of inconsistencies in her story after she claimed Johnson left her with bruises after a domestic violence attack.

Johnson was reported missing on September 23rd. Gledhill was arrested after her unnamed lover told police she had told him about her husband’s murder.

In a police interview after her arrest on October 3, Gledhill claimed she broke up with Johnson – only to spend the evening of September 20 talking and drinking alcohol with him.

She said they had sex and “informed (the officer) that due to the intoxication from the whiskey, she had a hard time remembering the events that occurred afterward,” a search warrant states.

Gledhill said Johnson became “agitated” during their evening together but couldn’t remember why, Fox13Now reports. It is alleged that she continued to give conflicting excuses for the bruises on her body.

Gledhill told officers that Johnson struck her “multiple times” with his clenched fist, leaving her with bruises on her arms, hands, face and legs.

Her secret lover – whose name has not been revealed – said Gledhill told him she got the bruises “from moving Matthew’s body and cleaning up the mess in the house”.

When asked by a police officer why she didn’t report her husband’s alleged domestic apology, she claimed she had “made a deal” with him.

Gledhill is said to have “been calling the police about Matthew for a long time over non-criminal disputes”.

She told officers that they had agreed that he would return to work at Camp Williams State Military Reservation the night after they had sex.

The alleged murderer says the first time she learned of Johnson’s disappearance was a message from his colleagues that he hadn’t made it to work.

Her lover offered an alternative version of events. He claims Gledhill told him she shot Johnson in the head while he was sleeping.

Gledhill then allegedly placed his body in a storage container in the attic before pushing it down the stairs and into the trunk of her minivan.

Gledhill allegedly smashed Johnson’s phone and drove his truck to another area of her property before driving his body north and burying it in a shallow grave.

At the end of October her parents Thomas, 71, and Rosalie, 67, from Gledhill, were charged with obstruction of justice for allegedly helping their daughter clean up the crime scene.

According to police, witnesses saw the parents cleaning the house for five hours, with Rosalie suspected of buying a new mattress for her daughter.

Investigators believe Johnson was killed on the old mattress, which subsequently disappeared and has not been found.

Blood stains were reportedly found under Jennifer’s bed during the execution of a search warrant on September 28th.

Jennifer’s parents told police earlier this month that they had been at her home but denied helping her clean.
