Naples man charged with first-degree murder in fentanyl overdose

A Naples man has been charged with first-degree murder after he was accused of selling drugs that led to a man’s death. According to court documents, on May 11, 2024, 44-year-old Brian Edward Jessup sold drugs to the victim, which resulted in him selling drugs containing fentanyl. Jessup is charged with first-degree murder, along with one count of sale of a controlled substance. First-degree murder is a capital felony for which Jessup has only two options when found guilty – life in prison with no chance of release or the death penalty.
