Netflix subscribers are in hysterics over the “crazy” introduction to the streaming giant’s new Christmas movie Our little secret.

The festive flick stars Lindsay Lohan as Avery, a woman who spends Christmas with her boyfriend’s family for the first time. However, she soon finds out that his sister is dating Logan, her ex-boyfriend, played by Ian Harding, from whom she broke up ten years ago.

Since its release on November 27th Our little secret has risen to No. 1 on the streaming giant, surpassing the shark thriller Something in the water and the animated children’s film Bannedwith Nicole Kidman and Rachel Ziegler.

In the film’s opening scenes, set in 2014, viewers see Avery and Logan break up – followed by a time jump to 2024, marked by a one-minute montage.

The scene jumps through the last decade, highlighting monumental moments throughout the years.

However, many viewers took to Twitter to comment on how “random” and “crazy” the selection of milestones was.

The montage – set to Calvin Harris’ 2014 hit song “Summer” – includes events as diverse as the 2016 release of “Summer.” Stranger Things to rescue a Thai soccer team from a cave system in Chiang Rai province in 2018.

The royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Moonlight Winning the Best Picture Oscar and legalizing same-sex marriage were also on the list, along with the Notre Dame fire, the unveiling of Elon Musk’s Cybertruck and the Bernie Sanders-with-mittens meme surrounding Joe Biden’s 2021 inauguration circulated.
