New Jersey lottery player wins $1 million in Tuesday's Mega Millions

A New Jersey lottery player ended the year with a bang by winning $1 million in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing.

The Jersey ticket, as well as the Florida and Minnesota tickets, matched the five balls to win the million-dollar second prize, according to the Mega Millions website.

The winning NJ ticket was sold at the Speedy Mart Food Store on Parkway Avenue in West Trenton (Mercer County).

The Mega Millions jackpot increases to $42 million

No one has won the jackpot, so it will rise to an estimated $42 million, with a cash option of $18.8 million for Friday night’s drawing.

The jackpot was last won on December 27, when a lottery player in California won $1.269 billion – the fifth largest Mega Million of all time.

The cost is $2 per ticket, but you can add the Megaplier for $1, which increases the amount of your potential win to five times the original prize (excluding the jackpot).

Each player chooses five numbers from 1 to 70 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 25 for the mega ball.
