WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – An Uber Eats driver noticed a strange smell coming from a burrito meal he picked up in Lindenwold and stopped in Washington Township to have the order checked by police.

Officer Lou DeStefano responded and found the aluminum-wrapped package along with a bottle of pomegranate-flavored water and a box of Kosher Lipton Noodle Soup. When he unwrapped the wrapper, he found no meat, rice, beans or salsa, but a plastic bag containing over an ounce of green marijuana, Washington police in Gloucester County said in a statement Facebook post.

The food was destined for an address in Glassboro. Police did not say where exactly it came from.

The police had some some fun in the postHe wrote, “That was not the type of packaging anyone ordered!” The marijuana burrito is now in evidence and “an investigation is being prepared.”

And: “If you know anything about this high-flying delivery, call our detective agency at 856-589-0330.”
