New Jersey Woman Marijuana Uber Eats Burrito – US woman finds marijuana instead of burrito in package she ordered on Uber Eats

A New Jersey driver was shocked when she received her Uber Eats delivery to discover that her food order wasn’t the burrito she was expecting — it was an ounce of marijuana wrapped in foil.

The incident occurred in Washington Township, Camden County, the New York Post (NYP) reported. The local police are currently investigating the matter.

According to the report, the delivery partner, who was unaware of the illegal package, picked up the order in Lindenwold on Friday evening. It appeared to contain a standard meal of a burrito, soup and a bottle of water.

However, as she drove to her destination in Glassboro, an unmistakable smell caught her attention.

“She believed there was something wrong with her delivery package. She thought it smelled like marijuana,” Washington Township Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik said in a statement, NYP reported.

The driver was suspicious of the package’s contents, pulled over and contacted authorities. Upon inspection, officers discovered that the foil-wrapped item did not contain meat, beans or rice, but rather a large, zip-lock bag filled with raw marijuana.

“There was no food in that burrito,” Chief Gurcsik said, adding, “There was an ounce of marijuana.”

Photos released by police showed the drugs were clumsily packaged to mimic a burrito. Investigators suspect someone tried to exploit Uber’s package delivery feature, a service that strictly prohibits the transportation of drugs, alcohol or medication.

According to NYP, an Uber spokesperson described the incident as “deeply disturbing” and praised the driver for immediately alerting local authorities. They urged other drivers to report similar suspicious deliveries.
