A New Orleans police officer shoots a suspect accused of stealing a car near the French Quarter

TONIGHT, BUT THINGS ARE CHANGING TONIGHT AND TOMORROW MORNING. To find out more, we turn directly to meteorologist Devin Lucy. DEVIN. YOU’RE GETTING THE LAST OF THE BEAUTIFUL WEATHER NOW. I think things will be a little different tomorrow morning. This was the view from the ground. This is the top down view. SAME RECORD HERE FROM OUR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL. CAM. They’re making this ad right about in there. And the light should come on at any moment. BUT IT’S DOPPLER RADAR WDSU FIRST WARNING WEATHER DOPPLER RADAR A LITTLE LIGHT RAIN NOW WOULD NOT BE SURPRISING IF THEY HAVE SOME SOME FIRE OR A SHOWERS BUT FOR THE MOST PART THE HEAVIER RAIN IS STILL HEAVY WEST OF US AT THIS POINT POINT. LET ME SHOW YOU WHERE I HAVE SOME BAGS WITH AT LEAST A STRONGER SHOWER ACTIVITY. It is currently being routed through THIBODAUX, Raceland Lockport, here LUTCHER and the River Parishes. I’ll stop it for you. And what we’re going to do is give the storm a track. Is it that the stronger shower activity is moving east at about 35 mph? We arrive at about 2627. So it could be a little later. WE HAVE AT LEAST THE ESPLANADE MALL, ABOUT 605 LASALLE PARK, 606 LAPLACE. That could be around 537 here. So that means there is at least some activity in the shower. THE POTENTIAL FOR IT. BUT A LITTLE FURTHER LOOK shows that the thunderstorm activity is even stronger. And this will be the main round of storms. This is way, way out in Texas at this point. So if it’s way out in Texas at this time, that means it’s going to take a while to get here. AND SO IT COULD BE MORE TOMORROW MORNING THAT WE COULD HAVE A REALLY SLOW AND A REALLY WET commute for you. NOW, DESPITE THE CLOUDS, WE HAVE WARM UP TO ALMOST 70 DEGREES TODAY, BOTH AT THE OFFICIAL LOUIS ARMSTRONG INTERNATIONAL LAKEFRONT 68. BELLE CHASSE 65 BOGALUSA IS ALREADY COOLING DOWN TO 50 DEGREES. NOW 1960s. Let’s get straight to the forecast because I want to time when the rain goes out and show you when it will be there tomorrow. THEN THE COLD, THEN THE PARADE FOR THE FORECAST ON SATURDAY. There’s an accumulation of rain, a weak system coming together, and it’s actually the main storm in the Great Lakes and Midwest moving through this cold front. We got some pretty cold air after the flyby, so turning on the Doppler radar worked quite well in the short-term forecast. Therefore there will only be a light amount of rain this evening. There will be a short shower, maybe even drizzle. MORNING BREAKFAST ANYTIME AFTER 3 AM MORE POTENTIAL OF RAIN. This has always appeared to be the case with about five North Shores moving straight into the subway first, possibly at seven o’clock. BUT AGAIN THIS IS JUST A PREDICTION. So this can take between one and two hours. IN EVERY DIRECTION. That’s why I say 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. because we have a chance of heavier showers and possibly a thunderstorm moving through, which won’t fully shut down until around 12 p.m. It could rain quite heavily and quite quickly. We do not expect flooding potential, but there could be over an inch of rain in some areas. Take it slow on your morning drive. I HAVE A TEMPERATURE ADVICE TOMORROW. The morning hours aren’t that bad, the front isn’t through yet. NOW LOOK AT THIS. WE HAVE A LITTLE SUNSHINE IN THE AFTERNOON. The temperatures only drop slightly, but once we get past the sunset, that’s the really noticeable drop in temperature. Once again a slow drop in temperatures over the course of the day. AFTER SUNSET THE WIND KICKS UP AND THEN YOU BEGIN TO FEEL THE COLD. FRIDAY MORNING. HERE THE COLDER AIR IS IN 20 TO 30 TO 30 NORTH COAST SOUTH COAST BUT ALLOW A STRONGER BREEZE AND THEY HAVE AN ANGLE THAT CAN COOL THEM. I HAVE 27 TO FEEL LIKE BOGALUSA 37. WE’RE NOT NECESSARILY FREEDING HERE IN THE CITY, BUT IT MAY FEEL LIKE IT. We’ll reach the afternoon on Friday and high temperatures will only be around 53 to 54 degrees with a light breeze. AT LEAST THERE IS A LITTLE SUN. SATURDAY PARADE CLOUDS COVER I DIDN’T HAVE MUCH RAIN, IF AT ALL. Maybe a little drizzle period, 53 to 55. I think we’re looking good. Nothing like last year’s rainfall. WDSU FIRST WEATHER WARNING, SEVEN DAY FORECAST. THERE IS A VIEW OF THE COLDER AIR AFTER THE MORNING MORNING RAIN. Give him extra time. I think we’re good for it
