New PS5 setting facilitates the hearing step in Call of Duty

Hearing enemy steps in Call of Duty can often feel crucial, especially in competitive modes such as search and destroy and Warzone Battle Royale. Fortunately, a new sound setting can help players on PlayStation 5 to hear these critical sounds much more clearly.

Sony introduced a new system -software -update for PlayStation 5 on April 24th. This included the addition of Audio Focus. This is a function for accessibility with which the players can reinforce and hear certain parts of Game Audio.

Call of Duty PC players have been using something similar for years with a volume compensation setting. Volume exhibits the high and low audio of the game and minimizes loud and unnecessary noises and strengthens the calmer and hostile steps.

As a Playstation 5 player, I always assume that my PC opponents can hear me from a mile. I decided to try the new Audio focus setting to remove part of your advantage with the sound in Warzone.

Admittedly, I was skeptical at first because it was a new setting and not as much control over the sound as the volume of the PC. However, this has definitely contributed to increasing the footsteps audio in Warzone, and I was able to sneak enemies from much larger distances. There were some cases in which I was probably reported as a fraudster because I could hear my opponent from such a big distances and was immediately finished with my weapon.

There are some default settings to choose from, but the Boost High Pitch Setting, which “sounds high frequency and metallic noises”. Once you choose it, you can choose weak, medium or strong.

Audio FOCUS definitely offers a competitive advantage for PS5 players, but I would not recommend using this boost -high pitch in the strong environment, as it increases more than just the steps. Some of the metallic noises, which reinforce, like the creaking metal of the aircraft in Boneyard, can be really painful in the ears.

Ultimately, this is still an accessibility function that was more developed for players with actual hearing loss. So if you are not someone who needs the backdrop, it is best to try to try out the weak or medium strength. It is not worth ruining your hearing just to better jump a war opponent.

This Audio focus setting also works in Black Ops 6 and should also work for other competition games on PlayStation 5.

In other messages, a Call of Duty fan at the airport had her monkey accessory confiscated on the subject of zombies. I have exactly the same accessories. It is just a fixed form of the COD Zombies bomb for a controller. This serves as a good memory of me and everyone else, not traveling with replicas of monkey bombs.
