CASSADAGA – A long-vacant manufacturing building in the village is finally being used.

On Sept. 13, 309 Maple Avenue, LLC of Mayville sold 309 Maple Ave., Cassadaga to Wits Real Estate Holdings, LLC of Cassadaga for $25,000.

It was the site of the former Cassadaga Designs, which had been closed for many years.

Wits Real Estate also owns and operates the Wits Convenience Store on Main Street, Cassadaga, which sells VP Racing fuel and was formerly called Kwik Fill.

AJ Witkowski of Wits Convenience was commissioned on plans for 309 Maple Ave. asked.

At that point, he was able to confirm that part of the building would be used by Amanda Lancaster, who owns and operates Daw Daw’s Delights.

Daw Daw Delights is a private bakery based in Cassadaga that specializes in custom decorated sugar cookies and gourmet chocolate chip cookies.

“I have been working as a registered home baker with the state for four years,” Lancaster said in an interview. “With this new building I can expand my menu and do a lot more than I can do now. I’m now very limited in what I can do at home.”

Lancaster is a one-person operation. She said depending on how things go, once Daw Daw Delights moves, she may hire more employees.

Daw Daw Delights takes orders for its cookies online. Once the business is on Maple Avenue, Lancaster plans to offer cookie decorating classes.

She expects Daw Daw Delights to move to the new location in the spring or early summer. The Maple Avenue building is in poor condition and needs significant renovation.
