NFL Free Agency: Could there be a Khalil Mack-Chicago Bears reunion?

In the era after the Lovie Smith, Khalil Mack has the argument as the most popular Chicago Bears player during this time. The Soldier Field always has a healthy supply of ’52’ jerseys and bear fans who always speak highly over the former Chicago Bear.

Mack’s first half against the Packers in 2018 is one of my favorite -90 minutes -football that I have observed with the bears for a long time.

According to a report, there is the possibility that Mack can find his way back to Chicago.

Chris Emma the score published an article about what he had heard at the combine harvester, and one of his nuggets was about Mack found his way back to Chicago.

From Emma’s piece:

Sources believe that Mack is interested in returning to Chicago, where he played from 2018-21. Mack is not interested in the limelight, but the vision would be that he is a complementary piece of defense, not the star. After trading in 2018, the bears made Mack the highest defensive player in NFL history. The Poles then exchanged him to the chargers in March 2022 to signal the start of the bear conversion. While the bears try to achieve a turnaround, they were able to sign Mack to a one or two-year deal that fits into the rookie contract window from Quarterback Caleb Williams. This would enable them to keep their flexibility in the long term.

With the publication of Demarcus Walker in February, the bears have no practical lead to start the defensive compared to the Montez sweat. It would be a surprise if the bears were waiting for the design to fill this hole.

Chicago will certainly be in the mix to sign an advantage during the free agency, and Mack’s Pass -Rush could make sense for the bears.
