According to reports, the Tampa Bay Buccaners have found their new offensive coordinator after Liam Coen as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Mike Garafolo from NFL Network reported on Friday that Tampa Bay had applied the pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard for the role. Garafolo noticed that Tampa Bay “keeps continuity and the player interest gives to a trainer who is highly viewed in the building with this step”.

Coens exit was certainly a roller shoemaker ride for the franchise.

As Nick from NFL.com detailed, Coen was initially a candidate for the Jaguars, but withdrawn from the exam and seemed to be returning to Tampa Bay with a salary increase. However, he went back to Jacksonville after releasing General Manager Trent Baalke.

The Buccaners tried to take him when he visited the Jaguar, and finally turned to head coach Todd Bowles.

Nevertheless, the result was that Coen moved in the AFC south and left the BUCs with a sudden OK opening.

This empty space is no longer after the promotion of Grizzard.

The 2024 campaign was his first season as coordinator of Tampa Bay after spending the Miami Dolphins in the staff for seven years. He was a Quality Control Coach and a wide recipient trainer with Miami at different times during his tenure.

Grizzard found success in the Buccaners in his first year when Quarterback Baker Mayfield career height in the final percentage (71.4), over Yards (4,500) and touchdowns (41), while he led the team to an NFC South Crown.

It was the fourth championship in a row in a row for Tampa Bay and the second episode with Mayfield under the middle.

There is something to say if you have to maintain a certain continuity in the system with a quarterback that plays the best football of your career, and that is exactly what the Buccaners took with this step.
