‘No chance’ – Mykhailo Mudryk’s future is decided as Chelsea make transfer decision

Mykhailo Mudryk will remain part of Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea squad this season and will not leave the club in the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old made 15 appearances under Maresca this season, contributing three goals and five assists in all competitions.

Mudryk played an important role in the cup competitions – Carabao Cup and Conference League – due to competition for places in Chelsea’s attack for a starting role in the Premier League, with Noni Madueke, Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto all ahead in the selection order.

Maresca has been patient with Mudryk this season and the winger has rewarded the 44-year-old with his performances, particularly in the Conference League.

“We want the best for Misha, we have been trying to help him since day one,” Maresca said in late October. “He’s probably one of those whose learning process is slower compared to the others.

“But he’s doing better. I am sure that we will slowly get to the point where he will score more goals and become more important to us.”

Chelsea’s squad is very strong this season and Maresca benefits from being able to rotate his squad in all competitions they are involved in.

Mudryk will remain part of these plans. As Ben Jacobs reports, Chelsea will not make Mudryk available for a loan or permanent move in the January transfer window.

His chances of leaving have been rated as ‘none’ as Chelsea continue to bet on the Ukraine international.

Next summer, Chelsea will likely have to make a decision about which attackers will stay at the club following the arrival of Estêvão Willian, who will bolster their striker options.
