North Carolina 67-62 Virginia Tech (February 13, 2025) Spielrkap

Chapel Hill, NC- Reniya Kelly scored 20 points, Lexi Donarski added 15, including a driving playup with a 27 second lead and No. 12 North Carolina defeated Virginia Tech on Thursday evening for her fourth victory in a row.

Alyssa UStby ended with 16 rebounds with four points for North Carolina (22-4, 10-3 ACC). In her fifth year, Ustby has 1,210 career rebounds and moved to Charlotte Smith (1,200 to 1995) in second place in the program history and the sixth time in the ACC.

Carys Baker made 7 out of the field, 3 of 4 behind the bow, and led Virginia Tech (16-9, 7-7) with 15 points. Matilda Ekh added 13 points, including three 3, and Mackenzie Nelson scored 10 points.

EKH met a 3-pointer and Carleigh Wenzel two free throws to provide the Hokies a 4-point lead of the largest play ettwas more than three minutes after the fourth quarter. Virginia Tech was a 1 von-6 shoot with three sales when the Tar Heels scored 13 of the last 17 points.

Grace Townsend converted a three-point game and after Nelson had hit two bad shots at the other end, Kelly followed with a 3 pointer before Townsend made a layup to give UNC a lead with two points with three minutes. Baker met a jumper who met him with 2:51 at 62 band to play, but no teams achieved again until Lanie Grant 1 out of 2 made from the free -wire line with 1:17 on the left and the tar sales led the rest of the way.

Virginia Tech will be held in Stanford next Thursday. North Carolina concludes against the start competitor and the 10th NC state on Sunday.
