North Carolina and State Farm Host Car Seat Distribution for Hurricane Helene Victims

December 3, 2024 – Asheville, NC – In response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene on Western North Carolina, the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM), Safe Kids North Carolina, State Farm and Safe Kids Western North Carolina have joined forces to host a car seat distribution event for families in need. The distribution will take place on Saturday, December 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Reynolds Fire Department in Asheville.

This initiative will ensure families affected by Hurricane Helene have access to safe child car seats, an urgent need for many displaced by the recent disaster. Certified Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technicians will be on site to assist with car seat installation and train caregivers on the proper use of car seats.
