Notre lady QB, Steve Angeli enters the NCAA transfer portal

The quarterback from Notre Dame, Steve Angeli, entered the NCAA transfer portal. We take a look at whether the Vols might be interested or not.

The quarterback room of the Tennessee Volunteers was turned upside down last week because the former five-star start-QB, Nico Iamaleava, starts in the transfer portal. The Vols need another signal caller to add the room.

Notre Dame QB, Steve Angeli, has officially entered the NCAA Transfer portal, according to Matt Zenits from CBS Sports. Angeli was in a heated QB struggle with the fighting Irish between He, CJ Carr and Kenny Mingey.

Angeli spent the 2024 season as a backup by Notre Dame QB, Riley Leonard, and was brought into action during the college football playoff game against Penn State. Shortly before half, Angeli led a two-minute gate drive to win the Irish on the way to win the Orange Bowl before going to the national title.

Angeli will be a final transfer with one year left of the authorization. At this point, the Vols do not have many options in the portal that are talents for Sec-caliber, and maybe Angeli could fit this bill.

Timing is everything on the market for the Vols at this point. You are suddenly asked for a position that currently has no enormous offer. Angeli has not expanded the job with Notre Dame, the battle actually turned into a three -man competition in South Bend. Now Angeli could be the veteran that the Vols certainly searched for.
