OKC Thunder Jersey History #12 – Lindy Waters III (2022-24)

The Oklahoma City Thunder (and previously the Seattle Supersonics) have 51 jersey numbers worn by players who have appeared for the franchise since its inception at the start of the 1967-68 season. To commemorate the players who wore these numbers, Thunder Wire covers the entire history of the jersey numbers and the players who wore them since the team’s inception.

And while these Supersonics jerseys may not remain part of franchise history should a new team be formed in Seattle, as was the case when the Charlotte Hornets returned, they are part of Thunder history today.

In this article, we continue with the series’ 14th jersey number, jersey #12, with a total of 15 players having worn the jersey in franchise history.

The 15th and current of those 15 players to wear number 12 did so in the Oklahoma City Thunder era, wing alum Lindy Waters III.

After finishing his college career at Oklahoma State University, Waters went unselected in the 2020 NBA Draft and instead signed for one season in another domestic league before landing with the Thunder in the Oklahoma City Blue, where He worked out a two-way deal with the Thunder.

His stay with the team spanned three seasons and ended when he was traded to the Golden State Warriors for Quinten Post in 2024. During his time with OKC, Waters only wore jersey No. 12 and averaged 5.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.
