One Piece is still streaming for free (but not on Crunchyroll)

Watch out One piece “for free now” feels like Gol D. Rogers’ titular treasure, a mystery that may not even exist (perhaps it’s the friends we met along the way). Crunchyroll recently decided to put the iconic anime behind a paywall. One piece Fans will now need to upgrade to the streamer’s Premium tier ($7.99 per month). But there is another way to watch (almost) everything One piece for free.

Videos from ComicBook.com

The method applies to UK viewers, e.g One piece was recently added to BBC iPlayer. Both the subbed and dubbed versions of One piece stream on iPlayer. At the time of writing, there are 746 episodes available to stream, ending at Dressrosa Arc. But BBC iPlayer plans to have all 1,000+ episodes on the streamer by the end of December. The last episodes will be released on December 22nd. BBC iPlayer is free for all UK residents who pay their annual TV license fee. Below is a list of all the Arcs currently available on BBC iPlayer:

  • East Blue (1-61)
  • Alabasta (62-135)
  • Sky Island (136-206)
  • Water Seven (207-325)
  • Thriller Bark (326-384)
  • Summit War (385-516)
  • Fishman Island (517-574)
  • Dress pink (575-746)

The different ones One piece Movies and the recently released ones Fan letter are not available to stream on iPlayer. A piece of red was recently added to the Netflix library. However, just like Crunchyroll Premium, this is also a paid service. There is currently no news about any of the fifteen One piece Films are coming to BBC iPlayer.

Crunchyroll users still have time

It’s not all bad news for newer people One piece fans. While the majority of the 1,000-plus episodes are being pushed behind a paywall, Crunchyroll is still keeping the opening installment free for everyone. The first 206 episodes remain in the free tier, which also includes advertising. However, when you inevitably eat all of them within a week, the problems begin.

BBC iPlayer acquires the latest episodes of One piece fits perfectly with Crunchyroll’s own restructuring. If you wanted to join Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew on their journey to the Grand Line, now is the best time to do so. Free Crunchyroll account holders have until December 23rd to enjoy the next 344 episodes of One piece. Another 305 episodes will then be transferred to the premium tier on January 20, 2025. And the final episodes will be postponed on February 17, 2025. Can you see them all in time?
