Ongoing feud ends in deadly OKC confrontation and second-degree murder arrest

A subway man is in jail on a second-degree murder charge after police say a feud ended in a deadly confrontation.

It happened in front of a home in southeast Oklahoma City where a family had hosted Thanksgiving just hours earlier.

On Friday, police responded to a home near Southeast 44th Street and Sunnylane around 2 a.m. Officers found 24-year-old Timothy Brown lying on the street with gunshot wounds.

“The victim was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead,” said Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Dillon Quirk.

According to court documents, Brown and the woman showed up at the house due to an ongoing feud between their friend groups.

Police said “more than a dozen people” left the apartment building – telling Brown he had to leave.

The argument escalated.

“There was some sort of altercation between this victim and another resident who was leaving the home,” Quirk said.

Brown reportedly brandished a firearm and got back into his car. But when he didn’t drive away, police said Ladarius Crutchfield had a gun and began shooting at Brown’s vehicle.

As investigators gathered evidence and night turned to day, Crutchfield left the home, according to police. He turned to officers and allegedly admitted to shooting into Brown’s car.

According to police, the shooting was captured on surveillance video.

“The suspect remained at the scene and was taken to jail on a murder complaint,” Quirk said.

Ladarius Crutchfield was jailed on a second-degree murder charge.

The investigation is ongoing.

No formal charges have been filed against Crutchfield.
