Oregon men’s basketball beats No. 9 Alabama to pick up its second Top 25 win

Oregon's Keeshawn Barthelemy celebrates during a game against UC Riverside at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene earlier this season. On Saturday, Barthelemy had 22 points off the bench in a win against No. 9 Alabama in Las Vegas.

Oregon’s winning streak and undefeated record will continue as the Big Ten Conference begins.

For the second time in three games, the Ducks (8-0) defeated a ranked team when they defeated No. 9 Alabama 83-81 in the championship game of the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night.

The win continues the Ducks’ best start to the season since their 13-0 start in 2013-14.

“We felt like we could play Alabama even though they were ranked higher than us,” coach Dana Altman said. “We didn’t feel like we couldn’t keep up with them.”
