Oregon vs. Alabama Prediction 11/30/24 College Basketball Picks

The Oregon Ducks and the Alabama Crimson Tide meet in college basketball action on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Here’s a prediction between Alabama and Oregon. We’ll look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best choice between Alabama and Oregon.

Oregon Ducks betting preview

Oregon has had a solid performance so far, winning each of its first seven games. The Ducks have defeated UC Riverside, Montana, Portland, Troy, Oregon State, Texas A&M and San Diego State in succession.

On Wednesday against San Diego State, the Ducks took a 41-31 lead in the second half. From there, Oregon kept the pace with a 78-68 win. TJ Bamba led the team to victory with 22 points and five assists.

Alabama Crimson Tide betting preview

On the Alabama side, they’re off to a solid start themselves, with a nine-point loss to Purdue as their only blemish. Otherwise there were wins over UNC Asheville, Arkansas State, McNeese State, Illinois, Houston and Rutgers.

In Wednesday’s Rutgers game, the Tide held the locker room to a 41-41 tie. Alabama got going well in the second half with a 54:49 run and ultimately took the win 95:90. Mark Sears scored 24 points and set the pace with five assists and two rebounds.

Why the Alabama Crimson Tide will win

  • Alabama has won each of its last seven games against opponents not ranked in the AP.
  • Oregon has lost five of its last six games against top-10 AP opponents.
  • Oregon has lost the first half in nine of its last 10 games against AP opponents at a neutral site.

Why the Oregon Ducks will win

  • Oregon has won each of its last seven games.
  • Oregon has won the first half in four of its last five games at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Alabama vs Oregon Prediction

I’m leaning towards Oregon. The Ducks have looked pretty impressive so far this year, with only one or two relatively close chances. Oregon has a great rebounding performance against San Diego State with a 41-24 lead (16-6 on offense). That dominance on the glass helped offset 15 turnovers and 50.9 percent shots allowed on the other side. Oregon has only decided one game by less than double digits this year (78-75 against Oregon State), but this will likely be their toughest test yet.

As for Alabama, they had trouble shaking off the troublesome Rutgers team in their last game. The Tide shot just 25 of 36 (69.4 percent) from the line and had 20 turnovers in this five-point win, but otherwise led the way in almost every other game. Alabama has scored 85 or more points in three straight games – but has also given up 80 or more in each of those games. Saturday’s match looks to be a high-profile affair that’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. I like Oregon to cover at the end and maybe even win.
