Original Sin trailer teases how Dexter lives

Dexter: Original Sin has gotten a brand new trailer that shows Dexter Morgan still alive. Dexter is one of the most popular Showtime shows that premiered back in 2006 and is still showing signs of life almost 20 years later. The series caused a stir in the late 2000s for being somewhat taboo, putting players in the role of a serial killer and making them somewhat complicit in his actions by rooting for him. Michael C. Hall was showered with praise for his performance as the affable but brutal serial killer and was even cited as a reason why the series continued to be enjoyable even in its weaker seasons.

After eight years of operation Dexter was completed in 2013, but left the door open for more should an idea arise. Of course, that happened in 2021 Dexter: New Blooda sequel to the series starring Michael C. Hall. The show picked up a decade later, with Dexter living under a new name in snowy upstate New York and living a quiet, murder-free life. However, things turn topsy-turvy when his estranged son finds him and shows signs of dark urges that Dexter knew. Tragically, Dexter was killed in the end New blood…or so we thought.

Dexter: New Blood was so popular in terms of viewership that Showtime and Paramount came up with a plan to continue Dexter as a franchise, resulting in a prequel series called ” Dexter: Original Sin which will be released in a few weeks. While original sin takes place in the 1990s and seems to partially continue the story of today’s Dexter. In a newly released trailer, we see present-day Dexter Morgan bleeding to death in the snow, before cutting to new footage showing him being rushed to the hospital where doctors treat him. Despite being shot in the chest, seemingly in the heart, Dexter looks like he’ll pull through.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Dexter would return in a new sequel series titled Dexter: Resurrection. The show will continue from there New blood ceased, which obviously means Dexter lives on. Little is known about the show, but Hall himself had suggested that the frigid weather may have played a role in keeping the Bay Harbor Butcher alive. Some casting rumors suggest that Peter Dinklage and Gillian Anderson will star Dexter: Resurrectionbut not much is known about her future roles.

What original sinIt looks like the prequel series will use present-day Dexter as a framework for the prequel. In the new trailer, Dexter talks about how his life flashes before his eyes, meaning we may be experiencing the prequel through Dexter’s memories in some way. Whether or not we’ll see much of Michael C. Hall original sin is unclear, but he appears to be making a proper cameo appearance and will also be narrating the entire show.

Actor Patrick Gibson will play Dexter Morgan in his early years, filling in some of the gaps from Dexter’s time when he finished school and began working at Miami Metro. There were flashbacks in the original series that showed parts of Dexter’s story, but it looks like we’ll see many of the bodies represented by a box of blood slides when we first meet Dexter in the original series. It’s certainly an interesting experiment and we’ll have to see how it all turns out. Dexter: Original Sin is set to premiere on Paramount+ on December 13th Dexter: Resurrection will premiere sometime in 2025, but filming hasn’t quite started yet.
