Packers at Lions: How to watch, odds, expert tips for Green Bay’s big chance in Detroit

In order for the Green Bay Packers to continue hoping to win the NFC North, Thursday’s game at the Detroit Lions is an absolute must. The Lions are a slight home favorite as the headliner this Week 14.

Here’s how to watch Packers at Lions

The Lions’ biggest concern right now is the increasing injuries on the defensive side of the ball. In addition to superstar edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, who is out this season, five other defensive players are on this week’s injury report, including three more defensive linemen.

That could be a problem against a Packers offense that has scored at least 30 points in three of the last five games, including the last two games. Running back Josh Jacobs is really hitting his stride and is nearing the 1,000-yard mark this season. He has rushed for 523 yards in the last six games and has averaged more than five yards per carry in three of those games.

Given the Lions’ injury issues on defense, as well as the fact that both offenses rank in the top eight in points per game (Detroit is first, Green Bay is eighth), Thursday’s matchup will likely be a high-scoring one. The overall score of 51.5 is the highest of any game in the NFL this week. However, it’s worth noting that neither team has consistently hit the over this season, with each of them hitting the over in just five of their twelve games.

The Lions won their first meeting of the season 24:14 in Green Bay a few weeks ago. A win on Thursday would give them consecutive 12-win seasons for the first time in franchise history. It would only be the third season with twelve wins for the team.
