Palmyra teen receives ticket after three-car crash in Wayne County – Finger Lakes Daily News

A Palmyra teenager was issued a ticket by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department after they investigated a three-car crash on State Route 31 in Arcadia.

Cole Cowan, 16, was driving west when his car spun through snow and slush on the road and entered the eastbound lane, where it struck a car driven by Sarah Defranco of Palmyra. Cowan’s vehicle then drove head-on into a second eastbound car driven by Kristen Davies of Williamson.

Davies was taken to Newark Wayne Community Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Defranco and Cowan were not injured.

Cowans was ticketed for speeding and failure to use a designated lane.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Newark Police, Newark Fire, Port Gibson Fire, Wayne County Ambulance and Seasonall Towing.

The fact that a defendant is accused of a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
