The new Palworld Feybreak The update is finally here as developer Pocketpair massively expands the offerings in one of the biggest Steam games of the year. We have a brand new island, additional mechanics, more ways to play and a number of smaller improvements to improve your overall experience. If you said goodbye to what everyone called “Pokémon with weapons” earlier this year, the free Feybreak update is the perfect time to get back in.
The Palworld Feybreak update is a big update, but by far the coolest addition is the new island of the same name. Pocketpair has already said that Feybreak Island is “about six times the size of Sakurajima,” which was added in the game’s last major update. There are new tower bosses, Pal species, and even the Feybreak Warriors, “a new faction that dominates the island with the power of their missile battery storage facility.”
We also got a first taste of the collaboration between Palworld and Terraria planned for 2025, which will see a new weapon added to the game. Terraria’s Meowmere is now in Palworld as the first “bullet-fire melee weapon” in the survival game, with more to come as part of the collaboration next year.

Feybreak also introduces a handful of new mechanics. You can now send your friends on expeditions to get supplies. This should be an easy way to build passive income streams and put your countless friends to good use. You can research in the Pal Labor Research Laboratory and unlock permanent passives and rewards to increase productivity as well.
There are also the brand new Predator Pals. These roam the world and are “extremely difficult to defeat” but offer you rare resources if you manage to defeat them. Speaking of resources, there are now both chromite and hexolite quartz all over the world. Chromite is buried underground and can only be found by friends who can detect metal, while Hexolite Quartz is only found on Feybreak Island.
Feybreak also brings with it some more difficult content, as the new Xenolord raid pits you against a dark mechanical dragon that controls its own army. Then there’s the new oil rig fortress with a “powerful attack helicopter” guarding all the rewards inside (no, I’m not kidding). If this sounds like it’s too difficult, don’t worry because Palworld’s level cap has now been raised to 60 to help you out.
If you feel like starting Palworld from scratch but want to do things a little differently, Pocketpair has added two new game modes for you to try out. In Hardcore mode, player and buddy death is permanent, so you should be careful during particularly difficult encounters. You can also turn Palworld into a random generator with Random Pal mode, where every single Pal spawn has been changed. This can be done either regionally or across the entire game, with Pocketpair warning that the latter could be “a bit chaotic.”
In the Palworld Feybreak update you will also find new weapons, buildings, skills, Pal skins and many other smaller changes. All patch notes can be read here.
If you’re looking to dive back into the game and try out even more, here are the best Palworld mods and how to install them, as well as a detailed breakdown of the Palworld map.
