Pat McAfee says Alabama can’t lose Iron Bowl on College GameDay

As you might expect, the Iron Bowl between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers was talked about a lot on Saturday morning’s edition of “College GameDay” on ESPN.

At the rivalry game, which pits the No. 13 Crimson Tide against the unranked Tigers, many members of the “College GameDay” team shared their thoughts on this year’s version of the Iron Bowl, including former Alabama head coach Nick Saban.

That group also included Pat McAfee, who spoke specifically about what this game could mean for Kalen DeBoer in particular, saying:

“Kalen DeBoer, filling the shoes of the GOAT in his first year there,” McAfee said. “We probably won’t make the 12-team playoffs after everything they’ve done, and besides, you can’t lose at home to Auburn in your first year if you’re trying to win over that fan base, the boosters for to win, to win.” everything. They have to win this game, but they still have a lot of work to do. They gave up 257 rush yards against Oklahoma last week, and this team (Texas A&M) got to see what Jarquez Hunter could do for the Auburn team last week. He came out on top against Texas A&M, so there’s a path for Auburn to win.”

Will DeBoer get his first win against Auburn on Saturday? We’ll find out when Alabama and Auburn meet for the latest edition of the Iron Bowl, starting at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
