Washington – The two-seal men’s basketball team at George Mason University (24-7, 15: 3 A-10) opens the A-10 championship on Friday with a quarter-final game at 5 p.m. in the Capital One Arena against George Washington (21-11, 9-9).

The A-10 quarter-finals on Friday will be broadcast nationally in the USA network, with comments by Mike Corey, Tim McCormick and Caroline Pineda. In addition, the Voice of the Patriots Bill Rohland will call the game in the Digital Network Gomason.

• With his victory on March 8 in Richmond, George Mason secured a share in the A-10 title of the regular season for the first time in school history. It has been the first regular seasant title of the GMU since 2011 (CAA).

• For the first time, George Mason has 15 league and 24 overall victories in the A-10 history of the program (2013-). It is only the fourth time at the Annals GMU school posted 24 profits.

• The GMU has earned an A-10 double shots for the first time in school history, and program No. 2 has been the highest in a conference tournament since 2011.

• The patriots are 22-4 (.846) in their last 26 games.

• The patriots ended the regular season with a 64-60 win on March 8 in Richmond. Darius Maddox led the green & gold with a game of 18 18

• Tony Skinn is the A-10 coach of the year. He joins Jim Larrañaga (1999, 2011), Rick Barnes (1988) and Joe Harrington (1984) as GMU winners of all Time Conference of the Year.

Jared Billups Is the A-10 defensive player of the year and George Evans (1999, 2000, 2001) is the only conference dpoty in school history. Billups also excludes AJ Wilson (2021) as the only A-10-all-defensive team that was selected in program bowls.

Jalen Haynes is only the second all-10 first team selection in school history, with joining Josh Oduro (2022, 2023). Additionally, Darius Maddox earned a place in the all-a-10 third team. It is the first all-conference honor of his career.

• George Mason occupies third place in the Nation in the FG defense (.379) and at the same time occupies an effective FG defense (4th, .449), 2pt -Defense (5th, .445) and 3PT defense (21:302). The patriots are eleventh in the defense of the evaluation (63.1 ppg permitted) and 24. In the total defense efficiency (0.961 points/property).

• In their last seven competitions, the patriots are 7-0 with five points or less and 3-0 in the last three overtime games.

• GM is a perfect 14: 0 when winning the sales battle or if sales are tied this season.

• The patriots are 19-2 if they shoot 30 percent or better from 3pt in the season.

• George Mason achieved a school record of 17 home winners this season and swept his A-10 home plan for the first time. GMU won six conference street winners for the first time since 2012-13.

• The patriots have to play a game on a neutral ground this season.

• George Mason is located on 75th place on March 14th. GM is also 85. In the Ken Pomeroy ranking.

Mason Conference Championship History
The patriots recorded a 41-47 (.466) all-time record, including a 35-37 record (.486) in various. I era. Mason was 4-8 in the events 19 and 1: 2 in the Mason Dixon conference (DIV. II) before he joined the DIV. I Range (1978-79). In his div. I history, Mason was 1-4 in Ecac South Night season competition and 29-23 ever in Caa tournament games. The patriots are 6-11 per time in Atlantic 10 Nach season competitions. Mason won A-10 Second Round Games against Fordham in 2018, George Washington in 2019 and 2021 and Richmond in 2023. The patriots won four Nach season conference tournament championships in the program history in the CAA -Hära (1989, 1999, 2008).

Patriots like No. 2 seeds
George Mason is all the time as No. 2 in the conference tournament. All eleven of these competitions came while the patriots were part of the CAA (1989, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2009).

History against George Washington
Friday with GW is the 38th meeting of all time between local rivals George Mason and George Washington. The schools are separated by only 20 miles and are located on the same DC -U -U -Bahn line (orange). Mason has won 11 of the last 16 matchups and has a 2-1 lead on neutral soils. Overall, GW has an advantage of 24-13 in the series and has won 17 of the 19 Matchups in DC. George Mason won both regular seasonal games with a total of six points this season. On January 18, the patriots won an 80-77-double-hour victory in Fairfax and won the street competition in Foggy Bottom, 53-50 on February 5.

With a win on Friday, the patriots switched to the A-10 semi-final for the first time in school history. This game will be played on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and broadcast nationwide in the CBS Sports Network.
