Pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck near Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston

A pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck outside a hospital in a busy part of Boston on Friday morning.

It happened just after 8 a.m. at the intersection of Binney and Francis streets, near Brigham and Women’s Hospital, police said.

The unidentified victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

The area, which is surrounded by medical buildings, was closed as investigators completed a reconstruction of the crash for analysis.

“I had to check out today so I had to try to get here. I was just blown away. It was crazy going through all of that,” said Charlene Frediani, who visited the hospital. “Tragic. Tragic – God I hope everyone is well – prayers for this person and his family.”

The crash is still under investigation.
