Pentagon publishes guidelines on the trans -military ban and strives to raise the court decision -making test

The US Department of Defense published new guidelines on Friday about how to prohibit the ban on transgender in the military of President Donald Trump, and asked a federal judge to increase its latest order that blocks the ban.

The Memorandum of the Department of Department of the Department of Defense states that the Ministry of Defense is checking the medical documents of the services, and within 45 days of questionnaires for self -assessments to determine whether they have a current diagnosis, history or symptoms of a gender dysphoria that would make them inadmissible for further service.

Gender dysphoria is the need that is experienced when the gender identity of a person does not match their birth family.

The White House, the Ministry of Defense and the lawyers for the plaintiffs in the lawsuit did not react immediately to inquiries about comments.

The memo states that the exclusion of people with symptoms of a gender dysphoria only applies to people with “pronounced incongruity and clinically significant stress or impairment for at least six months”, citing the diagnostic and statistical manual for mental disorders of the American psychiatric association.

It also means that it cannot come into force at the moment because the US district judge Ana Reyes in Washington blocks the prohibition of the Trump government in response to a lawsuit through transgender current and pothip service members.

Lawyers of the Ministry of Justice In an application on Friday, Reyes asked to increase their order in the light of the new guidance. They argued that Reyes’ order incorrectly found that the guidelines have discriminated against people based on their transgender identity and that the instructions make it clear that it is based on a medical diagnosis.

Reyes already rejected a similar argument when she blocked the directive.

She had put her order on ice on Friday until 10:00 a.m. to give the government the opportunity to appeal. In the application on Friday, the government said they plan to make an appeal, and asked Reyes to keep their order on hold while the appeal is pending if it did not increase it.
