PGA Tour Pro to take over the 2025 Boston Marathon

Professional golfer Scott Stallings Is no stranger when it comes to heading for the PGA tour, but this year the 40-year-old takes a completely different distance challenge to April 21, the Boston Marathon 2025.

Stables appeared on the Long -term Podcast with host Jonathan LevittWhere he entertained in addition to his golf career about the balancing act of the marathon training. He also informed how a book inspired him to violate this goal in Boston Marathon, while he collected donations for the non -profit charity golf against cancer.

Stallings, a three-time PGA tour winner in Massachusetts, has a connection to the marathon. This prestigious event event will also mark his debut in the distance, and he will do so as a charity.

“I’ve just become addicted to running in the past two months,” admitted Stallings in the podcast. “My Instagram for your page is all races and running videos.”

Stallings compared his excitement for Boston with the thrill to announce his name on the first tee at one of the four big tournaments of the Golf. “I know it will be emotional, but I am looking forward to my competitive side. I am sure it will be, but I have to be careful (at speed) if it does.”

In contrast to Golf, where Silence is a courtesy for players during the shots, the Boston Marathon is a completely different atmosphere – a constant cheers and encouragement, from Hopkinton start to the Boylston Street finish line. Stalling says he is pumped for noise and energy and sees it as a motivation to push and inspire others.

“I want people to shout at me,” he said. “I have no running experience this year. I would like to try something that I feel capable of – and the best version of myself are while I inspire others to try something new.”

A particularly Canadian corner to the Boston trip of Stalling is the book that helped him to overcome the mental and physical hurdles of the marathon training: Endure: spirit, body and the strangely elastic limits of human performance From in Toronto -based runners and sports scientists Alex Hutchinson. Stallings attributes the book to help him concentrated and motivated while he accepts this challenge.
