Philippe Laffont’s brave shift to pharmaceutical investments

Philippe Laffont, the billionaire founder of Coatue Management, has always been known for his significant investments in the technology sector. With 26.9 billion US dollars in more than 80 shares, the technology accounted for over 40% of its investments for several quarters. However, the latest changes show some fascinating maneuvers when he adapts his strategy into the constantly developing market.

According to financial reports, Laffont recently decided to reduce his investments in two important tech shares: Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Although he still believed that these companies had potential, he reduced his Nvidia stocks by 26%. In the meantime he had 10.138.161 shares and lowered his AMD position by 32%, which led to 4,249.190 shares. This step sends waves of the analysis in the investor circles, since Nvidia has established itself as a leading AI chip designer, who won over 70% of the market share and recorded considerable sales growth last year.
