Phillies, Paranoid, start examination after the last Bullpen -Implosion

The Philadelphia Phillies have a winning start after a relatively quiet low season.

Although the Phillies won only one playoff game in 2024, they have essentially returned with the same roster. But the bullpen seems to have taken a step back.

The team lost Jeff Hoffman and Carlos Estévez to new teams in the free agency and decided to bring Jordan Romano to the former Toronto Blue Jay as a replacement. So far, Romano has released a 15.26 ERA, while in just nine games they give up 13 deserved runs with 13 goals. In the meantime, the Phillies Bullpen has the second highest era in the entire baseball with 5.80.

Romano is a two-time all-star and the team remains confident in his things and raises questions about why he was not more effective. After his latest Implosion, in which he gave up six deserved runs in 0.2 innings against Miami Marlins, Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that he would be looking for an underlying topic.

“The club is amazed by Romano’s first nine excursions,” wrote Matt Gelb for athletic. “Thomson, who is considered a paranoid, commissioned a fact mission whether Romano tipped his parking spaces. This is the standard exposure when a pitcher fights.”

Romano has an injured season 2024, which could better explain his previous hills. And yellow noticed that he only throws two playgrounds, so that Hitter have a good chance of guessing what comes without tips.

As a result, it is unlikely that Thomson’s examination will dig a simple solution to the problem. Instead, Romano could consider to add a pitch, to rethink his approach to games or to take a kind of mental break for refreshing.

But for the time being, the Phillies have to find a way to achieve better results from Romano and Company.

“Anyone who conjures up the Phillies from the minors does not come into a role with a high review,” added yellow. “Thomson has to squeeze something out of this group.”
