Wallet-friendly streaming service Philo already offers a wealth of general entertainment, movies, lifestyle shows and knowledge-based programming without breaking the bank. Now the service is adding Hallmark Plus as an option for streamers to unlock a wealth of holiday and family-friendly movies.

Starting this week, Philo streamers using the service’s free or paid tiers can add Hallmark Plus for $8 per month, giving them access to holiday shows and films like “Holidazed and Mistletoe Murders,” Hallmark’s first-ever limited series; “Finding Mr. Christmas,” a reality-based competition show; and “Groomsman,” a trilogy inspired by “The Wedding Veil.”

The add-on is available to those who use Philo’s core TV service, which costs $28 per month and includes more than 70 premium cable networks, including three Hallmark-branded channels, as well as the premium movie service AMC Plus includes. It is also available to those who use Philo’s free service, which offers 100 free, ad-supported streaming TV channels (FAST) without a subscription. (The FAST channels are also included in the $28 per month plan.)

Both plans include a cloud DVR that allows users to record and store shows: the free plan retains shows and movies for 30 days, while the premium plan extends the amount of time a show or movie is saved to one year extended.

Philo offers a seven-day free trial of its premium service that users can cancel at any time. The service also offers a seven-day free trial of all add-on packages, including Hallmark Plus, with no commitment whatsoever.

“With Hallmark Plus now part of our add-on lineup, you can customize your subscription like never before,” a Philo spokesperson said in a blog post on Wednesday. “From exclusive content to premium add-ons, Philo continues to bring you more of what you love.”

Hallmark Plus was originally announced in July. Hallmark Media executives said the streaming service will be the first distribution outlet for a slate of new holiday films as well as 300 Hallmark films.
