Pirate fans outraged as an esteemed ‘Bucco Bricks’ in the recycling center

Pirate fans are outraged after they have found that their “Bucco bricks” have disappeared from the PNC Park forever.

Twenty years ago, 10,000 fans bought and labeled “Bucco Bricks” to support the Roberto Clement Foundation. The bricks were placed at the main entrance of the park.

“My mother was a very big advocate of the baseball. That’s why we got it for my mother. And she was only like the second row when they came in. Every time we go to the stadium, we were there and I showed my grandchildren, my children,” said Darlene Cramer.

However, the bricks disappeared in the recent renovation work. Cramer said she turned to the pirates and was informed that some stones were savable, but there was no clarity about what would happen next.

In the dismay of the fans, in the investigation of Pittsburghs Action News 4, 4 stacks of these meaningful bricks discovered, which were thrown away in a recycling center in Reserve Township.

“To find out that everything at the landfill is only Bonkers. I think I thought they were still here, you know, somewhere or something in a vault,” said Matthew Mayer.

“So disrespectful. To be honest, I don’t know how to do it and just don’t take care of it,” added Seth Sandmeyer.

The pirates answered and explained that the distant bricks were the third set over the years and were damaged by weather and foot traffic.

They said: “We respect, appreciate and understand how meaningful these messages are. We share this feeling. We have actively planned to develop and reveal a more permanent display for these special messages in order to honor the permanent support that our fans shared at the time, and continue to share in our future.”

Nevertheless, the fans were of the opinion that the communication was missing and said they had the chance to get their esteemed bricks.

“This is somewhere, apart from the fact that we go there to show that we appreciate it,” said Cramer.

The pirates have made it clear that they have no contact information for brick buyers, but have transcripts of the inscriptions. They said the bricks should never be returned, and fans would have the opportunity to buy replicas when they bought them for the first time.

Details on the schedule for the promised new monument are not completed. The pirates said it could be similar to the vertical near the Mazeroski statue.
