“Pokémon Anime” is making a big streaming move and fans have every reason to be excited

The Pokémon Anime is making a return that should delight long-time fans of the franchise after its own streaming app was shut down earlier this year. Now fans can watch episodes of the classic series at their leisure via YouTube.

In January 2024, it was announced that the Pokémon Company’s long-running streaming app, Pokémon TV, would be shutting down. This put fans in a difficult situation as the app was the main streaming home for a significant portion of the anime series and after the closure they were faced with a complicated situation with different seasons available on different services and up $100,000 required 10 different apps to watch just about half of the series. The situation has improved somewhat with the release of a Pokémon-themed Pluto TV channel, but that doesn’t allow for the on-demand viewing that fans might want.

The series will finally be easily accessible to fans

According to reliable fansite Serebii, the new YouTube channel will be called @OfficialPokémonTV and will begin uploading videos on December 6, 2024. The channel promises full episodes, live streams, and compilation videos that should be enough to satisfy any fan of classics Pokémon. Even if it is not yet clear which episodes will be uploaded and how often they will be uploaded, it is definitely a big relief for the series to finally be able to stream easily again.
