Power Rangers’ canceled 7-film schedule makes the failure of the 2017 reboot even more heartbreaking

Power Rangers (2017) would lead to multiple sequels, making the reboot’s failure even more disappointing. Power Rangers has a complicated history with movies. The franchise’s first attempt to turn the TV phenomenon into a box office success came in 1995 with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. During the year 1995 Power Rangers Although the film has now become a classic thanks to TV reruns and VHS, it didn’t do particularly well when it was released. Two years later, Power Rangers got a second film, this time with a much smaller budget and a more limited release.

Interestingly, 1997 Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie is the only canon film in the franchise and acts as “Episode 0” of Power Rangers Turbo. It took 20 years Power Rangers to get another film, with Power Rangers (2017) promises a darker, more mature view of the world of Mighty morphine. With a great cast of young actors and lots of fresh ideas, Power Rangers (2017) had the potential to launch a franchise that could have reimagined the Zordon era in a series of films. Unfortunately this is Power Rangers The cinematic universe never came into being.

There has never been much discussion about what that is Power Rangers Sequels would look like, the studio clearly believed in the potential of the IP and viewed the 2017 reboot as the start of a franchise. Unfortunately, Power Rangers bombed at the box office, and this new film series is based on it Mighty morphine was dead before it even started.

Power Rangers‘ Future after that Cosmic rage remains unclear as a new TV show or film has yet to be announced.

Made on a budget of $100 million, Power Rangers grossed just $142 million at the global box office. Considering that films typically have to gross 2.5 times their production budget to break even, it’s unclear whether 2017 Power Rangers reboot even brought a profit. The Power Rangers The brand was sold to Hasbro about a year later and was new Power Rangers If the film ever happens, it won’t be a sequel to the 2017 reboot. Power RangersThe box office failure ended any chance of starting a multi-film franchise.

Power Rangers The box office flop is all the more disappointing considering how great a cinematic universe based on these characters would have been. While the Power Rangers Since the TV series was primarily aimed at children, the franchise has built an impressive history over the course of 30 years, consisting of countless heroes, villains, settings and much more. Power Rangers could have been a very entertaining film franchise even if it were based on that Mighty morphine only. BOOM! The studios’ comics are a good example of this, as they have been modernized Power Rangers while maintaining the essence of the TV show.

The 2017 film was much more mature Power Rangers story and found time to develop each character while playing with the lore of the TV show. From Zordon and Rita as former Power Rangers to the Zeo Crystals associated with life on Earth, Power Rangers (2017) had a lot of interesting ideas that could have been explored in sequels. The introduction of the Green Ranger and the arrival of Lord Zedd are just a few examples of stories that could have been picked up in sequels, not to mention all the others Power Rangers Teams from around the same time.

During this seven film Power Rangers Since the saga never happened, it’s fun to imagine what it would have looked like. Assuming they had wanted to stay with them Mighty morphine as long as possible, The sequels would likely have reinvented storylines like “Green With Evil” and “The Mutiny” while telling new stories within that sandbox.

The Power Rangers’ greatest mystery has been unsolved for 26 years and may never be answered

Power Rangers’ most important battle took place 26 years ago, but the series never explained the mystery of the Mighty Morphin team surrounding it.

Power Rangers 2 would certainly have featured the Green Ranger, especially since the 2017 film’s post-credits scene announced the arrival of Tommy Oliver. It would have been nice to see the full story of Tommy Oliver told across multiple films, with the character evolving from an evil ranger to leader of the Power Rangers. Hopefully, Power Rangers will one day return to the big screen, even with another reimagining of Mighty Morphin.
