Premier League predictions and best bets: Liverpool will beat Tottenham | Football News

Our football betting expert Jones Knows is back to provide further insight into the Premier League as he tracks value in the markets.

Everton vs Chelsea, Sunday, 2pm

The scoring spree continues in the Premier League and when the opportunity arises, betting on goals at the right price is a sensible betting strategy. In the last 49 games, the average number of goals per game has increased significantly to 3.39 per game, and bettors have successfully won over 2.5 goals in 70 percent of games. Even the 1.5 goal barrier is exceeded by goals, as 44 of those 49 games saw two or more goals scored. Even the three pure Premier League Carabao Cup games on Wednesday evening yielded over 2.5 goals.

Chelsea’s Premier League fixtures are averaging 3.52 goals per game this season and the positivity at Goodison Park regarding the club’s takeover could lift spirits and help ensure this game is played at a faster pace.

Both teams scoring and scoring more than 2.5 goals is a tempting bet at Evens with Sky Bet.

RESULT PREDICTION: 2-2

Fulham vs Southampton, Sunday, 2pm, live on Sky Sports

Fulham vs Southampton

Can you name me a better left-back in the Premier League than Antonee Robinson? It’s not difficult. The rampaging Fulham defender offers so much up front but is also a fantastic one-on-one defender who has quickly become Fulham’s most important and consistent player. No player has made more successful free-play crosses in the Premier League this season and he can also boast that no player in the league has made more free-play crosses.

Antonee Robinson is 100/30 to record another assist

This results in him providing plenty of chances for his teammates – he has six assists this season, including two at Anfield last weekend. He’s 100/30 on Sky Bet for another one.

RESULT PREDICTION: 3-1

Leicester vs Wolves, Sunday 2pm

Vitor Pereira could be an interesting player, if his interview with Sky Sports News when applying for the Everton job is any evidence. The Portuguese coach has also made an immediate impact with clubs in the past. On all eight occasions when he has taken charge of a top club, he has won the first game in the dugout.

This bounce from the new manager, coupled with Leicester’s poor underlying numbers that point to a significant outperformance of their results, leads me to back Wolves here as the 10/11 stands out in the no-bet draw on Sky Bet.

Even 13/8 on the nose for an away win is tempting, especially if Mads Hermansen, City’s star goalkeeper this season, fails to recover from his groin problem.

RESULT PREDICTION: 1-2 | JONES KNOWS’ BEST BET: Wolves draw no bet (10/11 with Sky Bet)

Manchester United v Bournemouth, Sunday, 2pm

Bournemouth have taken the second-highest number of shots in the Premier League this season (270) – and only Manchester City (282) have scored more. This, together with the high expected goals figures (32.96), which are the second highest in the league, shows that Andoni Iraola’s football works very well in terms of creating chances.

What is holding him back a little is the quality of the players available to him in the forwards, which is why the Cherries record such high shooting numbers.

A major underperformance in attack when assessing their actual goal output shows that they are a team that needs a lot of chances to get to the net, so they are always interesting in the total shots market.

Bournemouth are averaging 16.5 shots per 90 this season and will have no fear heading to Old Trafford to play a side who are clearly still learning to tie their shoelaces under their manager. For Ruben Amorim, conveying his philosophies will be a slow and long process. One of the best bets of the weekend is for Bournemouth to record 14 or more shots at 11/10 with Sky Bet.

RESULT PREDICTION: 2-2 | JONES KNOWS’ BEST BET: Bournemouth total 14 match shots (11/10 with Sky Bet)

Tottenham vs Liverpool, Sunday, 4.30pm, live on Sky Sports

Spurs vs Liverpool

It’s hard to deny that Liverpool are only 7/10 on Sky Bet here. It’s the right price and I expect the matter to be calm rather than chaotic. Arne Slot doesn’t allow chaos to arise in games, he wants control and we’ve seen so many times this season that Liverpool come out of games at just the right time and then stay sober when opportunities arise. If Liverpool prevail, Spurs can’t be Spurs.

However, it doesn’t stop me from Dejan Kulusevski coming to this party again. What a machine he is.

Sunday, December 22nd, 4:00 p.m

Kick-off is 4:30 p.m

Since moving into his new role in central attacking midfield, which allows him to move dangerously across the pitch and lead Spurs’ pressing, his attacking performance has been much more consistent than in previous seasons. In 17 of his last 19 games for club and country, he found players assisting him for a shot on goal and scored eight goals in that series, four of which came from spin. His 10/11 to hit the target price and his anytime odds of 100/30 are both of interest to Sky Bet.

RESULT PREDICTION: 1-2
