Preview and information about the Olympic gold medalist’s latest figure skating show

‘Tis the season. And we’re not talking about Christmas here.

Yes, it’s the next season Hanyu Yuzuru show – ‘Echoes of life‘, the third chapter in figure skating Olympic champions Ice history Saga. The premiere will take place at the Saitama Super Arena on Saturday (December 7), Hanyu’s 30th birthday.

As in the first two episodes – prolog at the sold-out Tokyo Dome in 2022 and last year’s gaming-inspired sequel, Pray again – Hanyu should perform alone.

Here too he is collaborating with critically acclaimed producer-choreographer Mikiko, who will direct.

Additionally, beyond the above, we weren’t given much information about where the show will take place (Saitama, Hiroshima, Chiba) and when (a total of seven days in December 2024, January 2025 and February 2025).

What we know is this Echoes of life appears to be a thoroughly introspective journey and, judging by the limited amount of images on offer, has a futuristic feel.

When Hanyu announced the show two months ago, he sprinkled words like “AI” and “technology” into his statement while also asking about the meaning of life.

In September, Hanyu in Ishikawa Prefecture held a charity event for those affected by the M7.6 earthquake on the Noto Peninsula on New Year’s Day. As a survivor of a major earthquake who knows their pain, this was a fitting gesture.

But apart from that Echoes of life Following the announcement in October, Hanyu remained out of the spotlight as he has largely retreated from the spotlight since retiring from competitive skating in July 2022.

Hanyu is also the master of teasing, always keeping anyone who follows him guessing about his next move. We’ll find out what that is in four days.
