This clear collision from styles should help to sort the tip of women’s straw weight, especially when Jandiroba gets a victory. For Champion Weili Zhang, Jandiroba has faced a freshest challenger on the horizon, but “Carcara”, who deserves the title shot, is anything but a guarantee. She is not a particularly exciting personality, and although she was very successful, her wrestling and grappling style never seemed to bring her to the good graces of the UFC. In fact, instead, Zhang could have a challenge for the title of flying weight instead of making Jandiroba. Yan went the opposite development path. Yan came to the UFC as an apparently one -dimensional striker and thought that the first strong wrestler who pushed on her way. However, she still managed to squeeze past the Octagon in her first trips, be it in her career thanks to the face with other strikers or the more well -known opponents at the right point. After Carla Esparza was wide open in 2021, she grouped out surprisingly strongly and became capable of with her takedown defense enough to make her even more comfortable and effective as a temporary striker. That was enough to march to a title against Zhang about a year ago, which was not particularly good. Instead, it served as a confirmation that Yan can still fight a particularly powerful wrestler despite all her improvements. In November she looked keen against Tabatha Ricci and showed to continue to hang under the straw weight. Jandiroba’s toughness should look through it because she was ready to make a fight sloppy and ugly if this means victory.
