Prince William and Hannah Waddingham chat about ‘The Earthshot Report’ over darts and pints.

Prince William and actress Hannah Waddingham, known for her role in Ted Lasso, recently met at Alexandra Palace to discuss their new documentary film The Earthshot Report.

In a video posted to YouTube, the Prince of Wales and the actress met over a pint and a light-hearted game of darts to talk about William’s environmental initiatives and their collaboration on a new documentary that highlights innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Waddingham, one of Williams’ Earthshot advocates, serves as the voice of the documentary, which takes a closer look at the success stories of previous Earthshot Prize finalists.

“We are all involved in the problems we face, and we can all be involved in the solutions,” Waddingham shared about the project.

Launched by William in 2020, the Earthshot Prize aims to repair the planet over the next decade by supporting innovative ideas that address climate and sustainability issues.

“Our planet needs our help and every year counts,” explained William. “I don’t want to preach. I want to find solutions.”

The new documentary also highlights Launchpad, an initiative William describes as a “dating app” that connects innovators with investors to scale their solutions.

“The focus is on highlighting, showcasing and scaling all the amazing solutions that exist,” he said. “Invest in it, see it, support it and use it. Then we will make the earth more sustainable and better for all of us.”

William also spoke about instilling environmental awareness in the next generation and shared how he regularly speaks to his children about the importance of protecting the planet.

“We cannot take what we have for granted,” he said. “We have to protect it. We have to take care of it.”

The Earthshot Report premieres December 15th on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK and December 18th at 8pm ET on PBS in the US.
