“Priyanka Chopra’s nose job failure wasn’t her fault, she wanted to move back to Bareilly but I stopped her,” says Anil Sharma | Bollywood News

Anil Sharma recalled that the aftermath of the operation was so great that Priyanka Chopra was dropped from several projects. She was in the process of repaying aid and had planned to leave Mumbai for about a year so that she could recuperate in Bareily, but Anil stopped her just in time. Anil said that he already saw her potential and hence decided to work with her. “By that time, I had already given her a token worth Rs 5 lakh. She came with the check. She said I got fired and now I am moving back to Bareilly. They said they would wait to return my money. I said you keep the money and scolded her a little. She then told me what actually happened to her nose.”

Anil recalled, “She said my father was already back in Bareilly and had resumed his army service. Her mother said she would also resume her practice. They thought that it would take some time for Priyanka to heal so they would come back after about a year. They paid so much rent here and were normal people, not like Ambanis. I told them to stop.”

Anil Sharma said he called an experienced makeup artist working at YRF and asked him to help with Priyanka Chopra’s nose. After he was done, they worked with Neeta Lulla on their costumes and then Anil did another test shoot. “Then I sent the CD and everyone was like, ‘Who is this girl?’ It was her luck. It wasn’t her fault that the nose job failed and if we can correct it, why shouldn’t we?” Priyanka appeared in Anil Sharma’s The Hero – Love Story of a Spy, which also starred Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta played along.

Priyanka later had a successful career in Hindi films. She now works mainly in Hollywood.
