PS Plus Cloud Streaming is a game changer for the PS portal

This effectively turns the Remote Play peripheral into a full-fledged handheld, although there are some limitations. Firstly, of course, you’ll need a PS Plus Premium subscription, which costs £120/$160 per year. Additionally, the selection is limited to around 120 games, and PS5 titles are the only ones available.

Despite all this, we tested the feature and were really impressed. For full clarity, we have a 200 Mbps connection and did the testing near our router. Still, the games loaded in under a minute and were fully playable without any significant latency. There were a few very minor graphical glitches, but nothing that affected the gaming experience.

If you haven’t used it in a while, PS Plus Premium cloud streaming is generally the talk of the town long And while it’s not quite the best solution on the market, it’s definitely up there. Of course, regardless of your service provider, cloud streaming comes with issues inherent to the technology. You absolutely need fast internet and a very stable connection to achieve the best results.

However, this is still a huge added value for the PS Portal, which has proven to be a surprisingly successful product for Sony. The platform holder has noted several times that the device has exceeded expectations and was a best-selling accessory in both the US and Europe this year.

New features like this, which are in beta but already work quite well, will only help the product succeed.
