Punter Alex Asparuhov signs with Alabama’s 2025 class

Punter Alex Asparuhov signed his NCAA letter of intent to join the Alabama football program on Wednesday. He put pen to paper in front of family and friends at the San Joaquin Memorial gym in a moment he will never forget.

Asparuhov committed to the Crimson Tide on June 15 after taking an official visit to Alabama just a day earlier. He clearly liked what he saw as other SEC programs. Florida and Oklahoma were also schools that made him an offer.

Asparuhov, rated the No. 3 prospect in the Class of 2025 by subject matter expert Jamie Kohl, announced his commitment on his social media Saturday while taking an official visit to Tuscaloosa.

He became the Crimson Tide’s first specialist in the class and at the time brought Alabama to 15 total appearances in its third-ranked class of 2025. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound kicker and punter hails from San Joaquin Memorial in Fresno, California.

Kohl describes Asparuhov as fundamentally the healthiest player in his class who performed as a 5-star player in his camps. In addition to Alabama, he also had scholarship offers from Oklahoma and Florida.

As a junior, he appeared in 10 games and completed 32 punts for a total of 1,392 yards, averaging 43.5 yards per punt for a distance of 68 yards, knocking down 14 inside the 20-yard line. He also had 21 touchbacks off the tee on 34 kickoffs. He made 15 of 17 extra point attempts and converted six of nine 42-yard field goal attempts.
