Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said that Qatar should invest 2 billion US dollars in the new sovereign finds of his country in order to increase economic growth.

Mr. Prabowo is on a five-nation tour through West Asia and visits the United Arab Emirates, Turkiye, Egypt, Qatar and Jordan to increase bilateral relationships with the region.

He said on Sunday (April 13, 2025) that he had a “productive” meeting with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the country would invest in the Danantara Indonesia Fund.

DANANTARA Indonesia was launched in February by President Prabowo Subianto, who had undertaken to increase the annual growth from 5% to 8% and at the same time order billions of dollars from government cuts.

The fund will take control of government investments in state companies with an initial budget of 20 billion US dollars.

It is the country’s second sovereign assets after the Indonesia Investment Authority, which was introduced in 2021 and has assets of $ 10.5 billion.

Danantara quit his complete line -up with the American billionaire Ray Dalio and the former Thailand Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra last month.

Jakarta has planned more than 20 energy projects worth around 40 billion US dollars this year, said Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, partly financed by Dantantara in March.
