Rain returns for part of the weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Rain showers will move in later today and continue into Sunday morning.

Even though rain will be the main weather theme this weekend, it won’t be a complete dilution. In fact, most of today will be dry. Rain sets in from the west in the afternoon and doesn’t reach Nashville until around sunset. Today’s highs will be slightly warmer than average, peaking in the mid to upper 50s. It will also be very windy at times, with a strong southerly wind of around 15 mph.

Rain is expected to continue until early Sunday morning. While a few showers could continue throughout the day – especially on the Plateau – most of the Midstate will remain dry throughout the day. Highs will again be in the mid to upper 50s.

Tuesday will remain dry but mostly cloudy. Highs will be in the upper 50s.

Rain returns again on Wednesday. Plan for scattered showers later in the day. As soon as the rain subsides, colder air moves in. The minimum temperatures drop to close to freezing point.

Towards the end of the week the sun will return, but it will get noticeably colder. Lows will be in the 30s while highs will only reach the 40s.
