Ravens believe that Justin Tucker will benefit from the challenging season 2024

For Justin Tucker, 2024 could be one season of everything that ends well.

After the temporary season, Tucker fought with a career high of eight field goals by making his last 28 kicks (five field gates and 23 extra points).

But for a perfectionist like Tucker and an organization like the Ravens, they will spend the low season not to ignore the difficult times of this year, but to improve them because of them.

Head coach John Harbaugh said that he had a great, “really long, honest” conversation with Tucker after the end of the season.

“Maybe we have all seen that Justin Tucker is human,” said Harbaugh.

“It is difficult to be a great kicker in this league and to be as consistent as he was, and he – these adversities – probably met it much later in his career than most of these boys, but it is something, This probably had to happen with regard to his growth as a player and even as a performer.

Tucker is still the most accurate kicker in NFL history with a field goal percentage of 89.1. He is a place over the Harrison Butker of the Chiefs, who also had some fights this season. In the seventh position is the Ka’imi Fairbairn the Texaner, who missed two field goals when the Texan’s playoff loss.

Even the best kickers sometimes go through rough spots, and Harbaugh said he saw how Tucker was going through a mental struggle this season.

Harbaugh compared it to a golfer that has to replicate the same movement again and again. The steps for Tucker were to stay balanced, enforce them and take football clean. In practice he made a consistent kick, but it might not change because he was not in the “right framework”.

It was to overcome Tucker – and Tucker alone – said Harbaugh.

“To pull out, the test and the fact that he went through it would pull himself out of him … I think that will serve him well in his career,” said Harbagh.
