Report: Ben McCollum from Drakes has been the top candidate for IU -Job -Inside the Saal

Drake trainer Ben McCollum has reportedly developed as a top candidate as the next IU basketball coach.

According to Jeff Goodman Jeff Goodman, the 43-year-old McCollum “developed one of the top candidates for the opening of Indiana and really impressed the Indiana ad Scott Dolson”.

McCollum led Drake to a 30:3 record and a NCAA tournament bid in his first season at the I level division.

The Bulldogs won seven games in a row, including a 63:48 win against Bradley in the championship championship game of the Missouri Valley Conference.

McCollum, a native Iowa, won four national championships at Division II level in Northwest Missouri State.

McCollum made the NCAA Division II tournament 12 times in 15 seasons in the state of Northwest Missouri. In the 2018-19 season, the state of Northwest Missouri went perfectly 38: 0.
