Resident Evil 4 VR statistics refer to the upward trend for PSVR2

According to Capcoms online statistics, the number of players who played the VR mode of Resident Evil 4 remake in one year has doubled in one year.

Facts

Capcom collects online statistics for Resident Evil 4 (2023), including the number of PSVR -2 players and the PSVR 2 -player PSVR. The total number of players on PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC and other platforms on which the remake is available.

The data survey is voluntary and therefore does not include all players who played Resident Evil 4.

Below you will find some interesting numbers from Capcoms Statistics, which are interspersed with remarkable events in the history of sales of PSVR 2.

• The VR mode for Resident Evil 4 was only published on December 8, 2023 for PSVR 2nd. It is considered one of the best exclusive VR players in PlayStation VR 2.
• In March 2024 the statistics passed the 100,000 VR players Mark with A VR user share of 1.57 percentas reported by mixed.
• In July 2024, the Playstation VR 2 price was significantly reduced in the USA and Great Britain for a short time.
• In August 2024, Sony presented the PC adapter for PlayStation VR 2.
• A longer global discount followed from Black Friday 2024 to the beginning of January 2025.
• During the course of December 2024 the 2 percent mark was exceeded. The statistics showed more than 160,000 VR players.
• At the beginning of February 2025 there was 183,000 VR players and the VR user percentage was 2.13 percent.

• For months, the statistics have not delivered any more recent data than the data in February. The statistics were recently updated. On April 18, the number of VR players was just under 200,000 and the VR user percentage was 2.18 percent.
• The number of VR players has roughly doubled since March 2024, while the VR user percentage has increased from 1.57 percent to 2.18 percent.
• Capcom has announced that on December 19, 2024, more than 9 million copies of resident Evil 4 remake were sold. 2.18 percent correspond to around 200,000 players.

CONTEXT

Comparison with RE7: PSVR 1 still beats PSVR 2

These are the numbers that can of course be interpreted in different ways.

It is clear that the PlayStation VR 2 is still far behind the first Playstation VR, at least compared to re7s statistics.

Resident Evil 7, which was published in early 2017 with a VR mode for the first Playstation VR, achieved much better than Resident Evil 4 and reached 100,000 VR players in less than two weeks. However, the hype was much larger at this time because PSVR was a novelty and Resident Evil 7 was also released for traditional platforms and VR.

Eight years later, the online statistics of Capcom show 1.24 million Resident Evil 7 VR player. Figures that Resident Evil 4 and Playstation VR 2 will probably never reach.

Capcom does not offer comparable numbers for VR mode from Resident Evil Village.
